DC recently teased a first look at Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam film at the upcoming DC FanDome event. While fans will have to wait until Aug. 22 to get the official first taste of the movie, artist Yadvender Singh Rana is hoping to tide them over with their new piece.
Rana posted their latest artwork on Instagram, which depicts a photo-realistic Johnson in the aforementioned role, sitting menacingly upon a throne of stone and metal surrounded by dozens of skulls.
"I'm very much excited for DC Fandom event that's gonna happen on 22nd of August, and hopefully there will be major updates regarding Black Adam in it," they wrote in the post. "What are your thoughts? Do you think all this wait will be worth it? Will this movie set Black Adam as a supervillain or an Anti Hero?"
Johnson's casting as Teth Adam was originally considered for the DC Extended Universe Shazam! film as the main antagonist, but it was ultimately decided to give the character his own solo movie instead, which is currently planned to enter production in early 2021. In the final cut of Shazam!, Doctor Sivana, Shazam's other traditional nemesis, was utilized instead.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson and Noah Centineo. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 22, 2021.
