After premiering in October, Netflix's Blood of Zeus, which combines Greek mythology with anime-style animation, received positive reviews from critics and viewers. So, it's no surprise that Netflix announced the show's renewal for Season 2 shortly after the premiere.
Here's what we know so far about Netflix's Blood of Zeus Season 2's plot, release date and trailer.

What Is Blood of Zeus' Story So Far?

Created by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, Blood of Zeus follows Heron, who is an outcast living with his mother at the start of the series. However, he's soon revealed to be the demigod son of Zeus and Queen Electra and drawn into a war with demons, which spawn from the rotten corpse of a giant slain in an ancient battle with the show's Olympians.
The leader of these demons is Seraphim, who is eventually revealed as Heron's half-brother, separated at birth. However, while Zeus watched over Heron out of love, Hera -- the Thunder God's wife -- kept tabs on Seraphim out of rage and jealousy. For much of the series, Heron and Seraphim find themselves at each other's throats as the latter attempts to wreak havoc on Earth and Olympus.
Blood of Zeus also looks at Zeus' relationship to those closest to him, including Hera, Heron and other Olympians. Soon, though, Zeus' relationship with Heron causes him to interfere in the affairs of mortals to protect Heron, which results in the other gods rebelling. This chaos culminates in a full-blown war in the finale of Blood of Zeus Season 1.
During the epic battle, Heron and his friends fight alongside the gods to stop Seraphim, the giants and their demon army. Heron succeeds, but Zeus perishes in battle. Hera, for her part, narrowly escapes. However, this turn of events leaves the throne of Olympus empty. Enter Hades, who Seraphim pledges himself to at the end of Season 1. With Seraphim and Hades joining forces, they'll definitely be a headache for Heron and the Olympians going forward.

Not much is known about the plot of Blood of Zeus Season 2 at this time. However, the Parlapanides brothers have said the sophomore season's story will look at Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. "Fundamentally, Season 1 is about Heron and Seraphim, and their stories continue in Season 2," the creators explained. "But we have a 20-page outline for Season 2, and it's very much a story of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The three brothers... things that happened in Season 1 that are really set-ups for Season 2. We go back to the story of when the brothers divided the three realms of the world."
